I am an international student from Singapore doing my undergraduate studies in Sydney. I am hoping that this blog can be a space for me to pen down fleeting thoughts before they evaporate into the atmosphere. I am an aspiring journalist who loves the challenge of translating thought and emotion to the page. I wind myself up into a ball of stress way too easily and to unwind I enjoy cooking, baking, exploring, yoga and outdoor running.
Cooking and Baking
I get food cravings all the time but unlike in Singapore, I cannot just run out of the house to buy them from a store. So I have to learn how to make them for myself! I would say that I am quite an intuitive cook such that I would still browse recipes online just to get an idea of what I need and how to go about it, but I definitely do not follow them to a T.
It is entirely a different case for baking. I am rather convinced that baking is more of a science than art. If I am looking to bake something, I will go online to find 2-3 recipes to cross reference to figure out the best action plan. There are just about a zillion factors that can influence your final product and I find that a lot of recipes online do not elaborate much on them. I will be recording down all the extra tips that I wished the recipe included and posting them up here for my and your? future reference 🙂
